A Step Ahead Adoption Services is a division of Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc. The owner and president, Diane Hogan, began Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants in 1999 when she and her family resided in North Carolina. When the Hogan family relocated to Colorado, Diane opted to expand the business. A smart move! The growth the founding entity Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc. experienced encouraged Diane to change the business plan to allow expansion of existing services.

In October 2006, A Step Ahead Adoption Services (ASA) was launched as a division of Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc.(SBS). A Step Ahead Adoption Services is a registered S-Corporation, based in Colorado, with several independent consultants available to help our clients with their own adoption journey. ASA/SBS is also a member of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and a Community Partner with the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The needs for adoption support, training, encouragement and planning have continued to grow. It was evident that the time had come to repackage the myriad of adoption services available to families. The consulting services originally started with Step-by-Step remain in place, but now the organization offers legal consultation, quarterly education workshops, regional seminars, a speaker’s bureau, and post-placement support.

Diane Hogan is the owner & president of A Step Ahead Adoption Services, a division of Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc. Diane holds a MA degree in education and has spent over 10 years in the greater adoption community as an educator and advocate. Prior to her adoption work, Diane was a teacher and public school administrator for almost 20 years.

Diane is married to Pat Hogan, a sports administrator with USA Swimming, Inc. The Hogans reside in Colorado Springs, CO, where they parent two children (Katie and Kevin) who were brought home through domestic adoption.
