MARJORIE B. WATSON
Birthmother Education Fund
We are delighted to have a living memorial to Marjorie B. Watson, grandmother to Ashley & Matthew Seaman, children brought into Marjorie’s world through the miracle of adoption.
A STEP AHEAD ADOPTION SERVICES was established October 2006, as an outgrowth of Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc. (circa 1999) to assist families in their pursuit of children through adoption. To date, our combined companies have helped over 400 families find their children through the miracle of adoption. Because we have been so blessed with wonderful families who steadfastly stay with the process, we decided in 2004 to begin our charitable “give backs” to our respective communities. Since that time we have two continuing charities and several revolving charities. Our commitment to the birthmother education fund is long-lasting. We see this as a way to help those women who have unselfishly made adoption plans for their children and placed with numerous families who have worked with A Step Ahead Adoption Services and Step-by-Step Adoption Consultants, Inc. It is for these women we created the education fund so they could pursue their own dreams of improving their education and career goals since they helped many of our Step-by-Step families realize their dreams of family through adoption. The Birthmother Education Fund has been funded solely from the proceeds of our birthstone bracelet sales. As you can imagine, this is a small profit but a growing fund each year.
Thanks to the love and advocacy of the Watson and Seaman families, our Birthmother Education Fund is able to grow exponentially thanks to Marjorie Watson’s decision to have memorials sent in her name. As a result of Ms. Watson’s choice, we have decided to rename our fund the MARJORIE B. WATSON BIRTHMOTHER EDUCATION FUND. We can think of no more lovely a tribute than to have this fund perpetuate Marjorie’s love for children and her advocacy for adoption.
Please see our link under the SHOP drop-down menu on this website for more information on how you can purchase a birthstone bracelet and participate in our ongoing charitable fund. All bracelet purchases are considered a donation and all proceeds go directly to the birthmother education fund.
